Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is an interdisciplinary practice that works with personalized exercises of the muscles of the lips, tongue, cheeks, and face and their related functions (such as breathing, sucking, chewing, swallowing, and some aspects of speech) to regain normal optimum function. Myofunctional Therapy has a large range of benefits. The patient can experience more restful sleep, increased energy, and less anxiety and depression and better focus. It can help with speech, neck and jaw pain and tension. Myofunctional Therapy can also improve aesthetics of the face and body, focusing on posture and facial symmetry. It can also decrease the amount of time needed in orthodontics, allowing for a more desired result or even eliminate the need for orthodontics in some patients.

Hello! My name is Andrea, I am a wife to a very supportive husband and a mother of 3. As a born and raised Kansan in the Wichita area, I am excited to be one of the pioneers in bringing much needed access to care for orofacial myofunctional disorders to our community. I graduated from WSU with a degree in Dental Hygiene in 2008 and practiced dental hygiene for 16 years. My curiosity guided me into looking at whole body awareness of function and disease. I chose to go out on my own and opened The Myo Connection on the westside of Wichita in 2022 and we have been going strong ever since! It is my passion to bring awareness to these disorders to help children and adults breathe better, sleep better and increase their quality of life. I pursued my myofunctional therapy education through Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy – AOMT, Buteyko Method Training, Airway Health Solutions, and currently going through more additional advanced certification through IAOM. I participate in many masterminds and group case study calls, along with multiple continuing education courses. I am also an active member in AAPMD and lead a local study group with practitioners all focused on airway management. Using my knowledge in dentistry, myofunctional therapy, and Buteyko breathing techniques, I bring a well-rounded customized treatment plan to all my patients!
Hi there! My name is Andrea Robinson. I grew up in the small town of Conway Springs, Ks where I met my wonderful husband of 16 years. We have three beautiful children who keep us very busy! I've been a dental hygienist for over 15 years. I have always been passionate about helping patients acheive the best oral health possible. I enjoy educating my patients and have built some pretty amazing relationships over the years. I love looking at how the mouth is related to overall health and am always looking for new ways to learn. After looking into myofunctional therapy closer, and hearing many successful case stories from experienced therapists, I knew this was something I could see myself doing. I completed my coursework with Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy in July 2023 and started treating patients shortly after. I knew this therapy could be life changing for people, but the improvements I've seen with patients so far is incredible and has assured me I am where I am meant to be. My journey is only beginning, and I will continue to learn more. Myofunctional therapy can improve the quality of life for people of all ages and I hope you will be one of them!
Hi! I am Barb Wyss. I am a mom of three, with one adult child and two younger ones. The younger two definitely keep me busy with their sports and activities. I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas and love my community. I graduated from Wichita State University in 2008 with my dental hygiene degree. Throughout my dental hygiene career, I have worked in both general and pediatric dental practices. I learned that the mouth has a lot to do with your overall health but didn't learn until recently, about how function plays a large role as well. I was first introduced to myofunctional therapy two years ago. The summer of 2023, I finally decided to pursue this expanding modality. I completed my myofunctional therapy education through Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy-AOMT. I also participate in a partnership study group with a great group of providers. Seeing patient transformations is so rewarding. Being able to help all ages, including adults with life impaired dysfunctions, is my new passion. I want to help everyone! I am ready to bring you my compassionate, comprehensive care so I can help improve your quality of life.
